Last month we visited the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center and Red Bull Academy in Salzburg, Austria. Team Watersley was given an extensive insight into the services and structure of the performance center and the structure and set-up of the inclusive Red Bull talent program. The knowledge our team picked up will be used for the future development of the Health & Performance Center in Klooster Watersley and the sports facilities at Watersley Sports & Talentpark and in the region.
On 15 and 16 July Team Watersley made a business trip together with the physiotherapist of the German Athletics Association Ben Wijkel. At first, we visited the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center (APC). The APC has been set up by Red Bull to help athletes get a better understanding of how their body and mind works, and also how if they change their habits, they can reach peak performance.
During their time at the APC, athletes are given access to nutritionists, physiotherapists, psychologists, personal trainers, and much more with the idea to evaluate how they perform and how to get more out of them.
The APC is a perfect example of how we see the Health & Performance Center in Klooster Watersley. It’s our ambition to create such a high level of sportscare at Watersley Sports & Talentpark.
After the extensive tour and the much information, we received from the staff of the APC, we visited the Red Bull Soccer and Ice Hockey Academy. Again, we were inundated with information. The Red Bull Junior Academy for soccer and ice hockey is based on a comprehensive and carefully planned concept, and the sporting infrastructure for Academy players is second to none. A great example of how talent development can be organized with great sports facilities.
